A Great Place to Work

  • The newly built LDHC has 16 long-term care beds, 10 acute care beds, and two respite beds and offers a surgical program, diagnostic and therapeutic services, obstetrics, telemedicine and a nurse practitioner program. As well, it operates a 24- hour emergency department, staffed by a registered nurse and an on-call physician.
  • The LDHC serves a catchment area of 5,000 including first nation and francophone populations.
  • Family physicians with the Wawa Family Health Team enjoy:
    • An interprofessional clinic housed within the LDHC that includes a social worker, dietician, clinical pharmacist, RNs and NPs.
    • Flexible hours,collegial colleagues and the possibility for shared practice.
    • The opportunity to practise a diverse range of skills including long-term care, ER (about 20 patients per 24hr ER shift), inpatient and outreach programs; and family medicine with the Wawa Family Health Team.

  • Eligible for $ 116,200 paid over four years through Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care).
  • Eligible for a signing package paid over four years, assembled by Wawa, White River and Dubreuilville communities.
